Best Colleen Hoover Books Ranked

Colleen Hoover is a New York times bestseller author, she published her first novel, Slammed, in January of 2011. In December she published Hopeless, which rose to the top of the New York Times best seller list. In 2021 Colleen Hoover started trending on BookTok a community on TikTok which catapulted her popularity. It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover released on 2016, became #1 on The New York Times bestseller list in January of 2022. Many of her other titles have since gained more interest and popularity since.

Colleen Hoover affectionately referred to as CoHo on social media first caught my eye on #BookTok, then Bookstagram and I thought ok, why not? I had been in a reading slump so I thought this may do the trick. I also did not realize there was a whole community of book readers on Intsagram, TikTok and Youtube.

My friend on instagram @Rensbookishspace after she created a bookstagram page and I followed her, I realized there was a whole book community I didnt even know existed! Long story short I had never read a Colleen Hoover book, and I was definitely intrigued to see what the hype was about. CoHos’ November 9 book, kept coming up as one of the most recommended books to read from Colleen Hoover so I decided, why not? Right?

This is where my CoHo addiction began. Colleen Hoover’s writing style, her mystery, and constant left turns has had me very invested in all her books so far. Some books I think were hyped up too much, as well as sometimes the book just needs to marinate in my brain for me to decipher exactly I just read.

I may even need to re-read a book just to really have it sink in. It’s like watching a movie, you get so lost in the characters and the story, with everything spiraling so fast, you are going through the motions completely lost but yet also immersed in what’s happening, you’re just trying to make it to the next page, the next scene, like ok CoHo what’s next?

Here are my BEST COLLEEN HOOVER BOOKS RANKED

1. VERITY

Book Description: “Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.”

My love for CoHo solidified when I read Verity, I loved every single inch of this book, every page was explicitly written and so satisfyingly good. It’s no surprise that Verity earns the number 1 spot on my list of best Colleen Hoover books ranked. Verity grabbed me from start to finish, from the first line of the first page I was intrigued. It was not the typical CoHo book you expected but it was so much more than that. This book was grappling at every turn, every chapter, every page. Once you start reading Verity, you’ll never want to put it down until it’s complete and after you’ve read it, you’ll wish you could re-read it for the first time. Verity opened the door to thrillers for me and I have not looked back since.

2. IT ENDS WITH US

Book description: “It Ends with Us is a book that follows a girl named Lily who has just moved and is ready to start her life after college. Lily then meets a guy named Ryle and she falls for him. As she is developing feelings for Ryle, Atlas, her first love, reappears and challenges the relationship between Lily and Ryle.”

This book was, literally such a twist with gut-wrenching hurt, I honestly never expected to read what I read. It was amazing from start to finish, it broke my heart and pieced it back together. The emotional damage this Colleen Hoover book created was unexpected, to say the least. It earns the number 2 spot on my list of best Colleen Hoover books ranked.

3. UGLY LOVE

Book description: When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up.

Ugly love earns the number 3 spot on my list of best Colleen Hoover books ranked. This was an easy read and I read it in one sitting, loved the characters, and absolutely adored Miles. Miles is the epitome of I’ve been through it but I am still here for you. As the book unfolded I was hooked and as usual, CoHo makes her books so unpredictable you can never quite expect it to go as you think it will. Loved this book so much and it holds a small emotional damage place in my heart.

4. HOPELESS

Book description: Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

Hopeless earns the number 4 spot on my list of best Colleen Hoover books ranked.

5. NOVEMBER 9

Book description: Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel.

November 9 earns the number 5 spot on my list of best Colleen Hoover books ranked. This was my first Colleen Hoover read, I went through many different emotions, and I think ultimately I was disappointed because the book had been so hyped up on social media; I thought oh this will be grabbing from start to finish. However, I was instantly disappointed at the beginning of the book, because of how it started but as the book progressed I was certainly invested and really enjoyed how things unfolded.

November 9, I wasn’t sure how I felt about this book when I was done reading it. It’s a strange relationship I have with this book. It started off where I wasn’t too sure I was going to like it, I don’t believe in instant love and I certainly don’t believe in such a deep love at first sight, and I thought, oh no is this going to be a corny love story? Well, it surely was not, but at the same time as the book progressed, the surprises that popped out of doors numbers 1,2, and 3 just got bigger and bigger. I love the selflessness of the love that was shared in the book and the care, and that’s what in the end really appreciated this story, not from any one part of the book, but you have to appreciate this book as a whole (at least for me). Almost like a piece of art.
